1988 Porsche 959 SC – Reimagined by Canepa
One-of-One Emerald Green

The Porsche 959 is widely regarded as one of the most groundbreaking supercars ever created, and the example offered here represents an even more exclusive evolution of that legacy. This is 959 SC #003, a fully reimagined Canepa build—restored, upgraded, and engineered far beyond its original factory specifications.

Originally delivered as a 959 Komfort and later displayed in a private Tokyo museum, the car arrived in the U.S. in 2016 with fewer than 38,200 km (~23,750 miles). It was then selected for Canepa’s elite SC program, a 4,000-hour, completely disassembled, better-than-new transformation.

Performance & Engineering
Canepa reengineered the 2.85L flat-six with modern twin turbos, upgraded internals, new engine management, and a fully redesigned intake and exhaust system. The result is an incredible 825 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, supported by Penske-developed suspension and custom 18-inch hollow-spoke magnesium wheels.

Design & Interior
This SC is the only example finished in Emerald Green, a custom paint-to-sample color paired with a Dark Green leather cabin. Over 3,000 components were restored or upgraded, with details crafted to appear factory-correct while showcasing Canepa’s modern precision.

Provenance & Presentation
959 SC #003 has been showcased at major Porsche events including Luftgekühlt 4, Rennsport Reunion VI, and the Velocity Invitational. Approximately 18 months ago, it received a documented $172,000 update to bring it to the latest SC specification.
